The Dialogue between Allah S.W.T. and Iblis.
In this article, we commence with the dialogue between Allah S.W.T. and Iblis.
(7:12) Allah S W.T. said: 'What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you to do so?' He said: 'I am better than he. You created me from fire, and him You created from clay.'0
Allah S.W.T. questioned Iblis, also known as Satan, about his refusal to prostrate before Prophet Adam. Iblis, filled with arrogance, justified his disobedience by claiming superiority over Prophet Adam. He pointed out that he was created from fire, which he considers more noble than Adam's creation from clay. This act of defiance by marks the beginning of Iblis' rebellion against Allah's command.
The Consequences of arrogance
The story serves as a powerful contemplation on the lasting effects of hubris and defiance against divine authority. Iblis' tragic destiny stands as a stark warning about the dangers of overestimating one's capabilities and underestimating the supremacy of the Creator.

Furthermore, this exchange emphasizes the timeless lesson of humility and submission to divine decree. It highlights the significance of recognizing one's limitations and embracing the wisdom of surrendering to a higher power. Through Iblis' downfall, we are encouraged to examine our own conduct and motives, so as not to succumb to the traps of arrogance and self-righteousness.
Expulsion from Paradise
Thereafter Allah S.W.T. said.
Sahih International
[ Allah ] S.W.T. said, "Descend from Paradise, for it is not for you to be arrogant therein. So get out; indeed, you are of the debased.
[Allah] S W.T. commanded iblis to leave Paradise, a place of purity and perfection, due to his arrogance. This divine decree was a stark reminder that pride has no place in the presence of God's grace.
The act of descending from Paradise symbolizes a fall from grace, a consequence of refusing to submit to humility and obedience. The term "debased" highlights the lowly state to which the arrogant one has fallen, stripped of the divine blessings and elevated status they once enjoyed. This event serves as a powerful lesson on the consequences of arrogance and the importance of humility in the eyes of the divine.
Satan's vow to mislead humanity.
7:14. Iblis Said, "Grant me a respite till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead." He appealed, “Then delay my end until the Day of their resurrection.”
(7:15) Allah S.W.T. said: 'You are granted respite. ' (7:16) Satan said: 'Since You have led me astray, I shall surely sit in ambush for them on Your Straight Path. (7:17) Then I will come upon them from the front and from the rear, and from their right and from their left. And You will not find most of them thankful.
Warning to the believers
This passage presents a profound dialogue between Allah S.W.T. and Satan, delving into themes of temptation, deception, and ingratitude. Allah S.W.T. grants Satan respite despite his disobedience, highlighting the concept of divine mercy and forgiveness. However, Satan's response reveals his malicious intent as he vows to lead humanity astray by setting traps along the Straight Path. His strategy of attacking from all directions symbolizes the comprehensive nature of his deception, emphasizing the constant vigilance required to resist his temptations.
The narrative serves as a cautionary tale, warning believers about the cunning nature of evil forces and the importance of remaining steadfast in faith. It underscores the challenges faced by individuals in navigating moral dilemmas and the need to cultivate gratitude as a shield against spiritual corruption. Ultimately, the passage invites reflection on the eternal struggle between good and evil, highlighting the significance of remaining thankful and vigilant in upholding one's beliefs in the face of adversity.
(Allah) S.W.T. said (to Iblees) "Get out from this (Paradise) disgraced and expelled. Whoever of them (mankind) will follow you, then surely I will fill Hell with you all."
In this profound statement, Allah's S.W.T. command to Iblees, also known as Satan, to leave Paradise is a pivotal moment in Islamic theology. The expulsion of Iblees from Paradise serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of disobedience and arrogance. By defying Allah's S.W.T. command and refusing to bow to Adam, Iblees incurred the wrath of the Almighty, leading to his banishment from the heavenly realm.
The severity of the punishment is evident in the words "disgraced and expelled," highlighting the magnitude of Iblees' transgression. Moreover, the warning that those who follow Iblees will share in his fate emphasizes the eternal consequences of aligning oneself with evil and straying from the path of righteousness.
This passage serves as a powerful lesson about the importance of humility, obedience, and faith in the face of temptation and adversity. It underscores the fundamental principle that submission to the will of Allah S.W.T. is paramount and that disobedience carries grave repercussions. Ultimately, the story of Iblees expulsion from Paradise is a cautionary tale that resonates throughout Islamic teachings, reminding believers of the eternal struggle between good and evil and the consequences of our choices.
Command to Adam and His wife.
Allah S.W.T. said,“O Adam! Live with your wife in Paradise and eat from wherever you please, but do not approach this tree, or else you will be wrongdoers. ”Then Satan tempted them in order to expose what was hidden of their nakedness. He said, “Your Lord has forbidden this tree to you only to prevent you from becoming angels or immortals.”
Upon creating Adam, Allah S W.T. granted him and his wife a blissful life in Paradise, allowing them to enjoy the bounties of the garden without any restrictions except for one - the tree they were forbidden to approach. This command was a test of their obedience and loyalty to Allah's S.W.T will. However, Satan, the ultimate deceiver, approached them and cunningly twisted the truth, tempting them to disobey the divine command. By insinuating that eating from the forbidden tree would elevate them to the status of angels or grant them immortality, Satan aimed to sow the seeds of doubt and desire in their hearts.
Prophet Adam and his wife, succumbing to the whispers of Satan, eventually gave in to temptation and ate from the forbidden tree. This act of disobedience marked the beginning of their fall from grace and their expulsion from Paradise. The consequences of their actions served as a profound lesson for all of humanity, highlighting the importance of obedience to Allah's S.W.T. commandments and the dangers of succumbing to temptation and deception.
